What is Immutable Passport?

Immutable Passport is the next generation of web3 wallets, bringing together industry standard log-in methods supercharged with web3 features that are native to gaming on Immutable.

Gods Unchained will be rolling this out in stages, starting with Authentication only which includes account registration and sign-in. This means there won't be any wallet functionality for now, allowing you to continue using your existing wallet with no changes or interruptions to how you play Gods Unchained and manage your NFTs.

While Immutable Passport is a wallet as it's core, it's also a secure identity that will give you access to all games and marketplaces powered by Immutable so your assets, funds, and achievements travel with you.

What's happening with the Gods Unchained login system?

We are integrating Immutable Passport into Gods Unchained, which will serve as the new login, registration, and authentication method moving forwards. There are no other changes outside of this, as we won't be implementing the wallet functionality at this stage. 

Continue using your existing wallet, with no changes to your assets or how you already connect or manage your wallet  - other than increasing your Gods Unchained account security.

When will this change occur?

The rollout of Passport for Gods Unchained occured in December 2023. Moving forwards, you will need to log in using an Immutable Passport.

But don't worry, we've put a lot of work into making this as seamless as possible.

How will I log in after the change?

Simply use your existing Gods Unchained associated email address when prompted to log in with Immutable Passport. This will automatically connect to your existing GU account with no further action required by you!

Will there be any disruption to the game during this transition?

No, the game will continue to operate as it currently does. The only noticeable change will be in the registration and log in steps.

Will I notice anything different after logging in with Passport for the first time?

There will be no change to your game data, wallet functionality or card collection. 

I'm not interested in migrating to Passport. What can I do?

We believe that Immutable Passport will be a great addition to Gods Unchained, creating a smooth and seamless onboarding experience while increasing your account security to protect your wallet and digital assets.

However, you are free to choose not to migrate to Immutable Passport. If that’s the case, we'll be sad to see you go but you can request to delete your account using the CS 'Delete Account' service.

What are the benefits of moving over to Passport?

In the short term:

• Passport allows new users to create a Gods Unchained account with Google, Apple or email, lowering the onboarding friction
• Passport simplifies and streamlines the login process for GU with password-less sign in, free of reCAPTCHAs - yay!

Can I migrate my Gods Unchained account after the ETA?

Certainly. In fact, next time you go to log in you will receive a prompt to establish your Immutable Passport account. This is necessary as the previous login system, which relied on email and password will no longer be in use.

Does this mean we’ll be forced to use Immutable Passport as a wallet in the future?

No! Expect to hear more about these features at a later stage but multiple wallet options will always continue to be available. 

When can we expect other features of Passport to rollout for GU?

Expect to hear a lot more about Immutable Passport in 2024 as we begin rolling out new features, that will:

• Streamline the user experience of web3 gaming with less friction by reducing confirmations, wallet creation and an enriched user experiences;
• Allows players to access multiple games and marketplaces, carrying your NFT collection, identity and achievements with you across new worlds
