- As of Jan 2023, Android 10.0 (API 29) and above represents ~80% of Android device usage and we wanted to cater to a wide audience, while allowing a good user experience
Why is it only on Android and not iOS
- With the foremost priority to get you access as soon as possible, we choose the Android platform since it allows us to sideload a APK build without having to go through the review process of mobile app store vendors.
- We have a very early iOS build internally and it looks good. The team is working hard to make this available in a future phase but it is right now not part of the Early Alpha access.
What can I do in the pre-alpha?
In this Alpha build, our priority is to fine-tune the gameplay experience on mobile, so all you can for now is participating in matches of following modes: Casual, Ranked, Solo & Direct Challenge.
And other features aren't available in this build?
Yes, that's correct for the time being. The list of features we do not support includes:
- Forge
- Star Store
- Deck Building
- Pack opening
- Tutorial Game mode
- Changing screen resolutions
Can you share a list of all the expected bugs
We have a separate page for the known bugs and we'll keep it updated when new bugs are found and old bugs are squashed.
Where can I give feedback and bug reports on the build?
- Contact the Support team here
- Contact the dev team by joining the #mobile-pre-alpha Discord channel.
Am I allowed to share gameplay footage online?
We have watermark in the game so when you do share content from the Pre-Alpha Release, please mention that:
- this is an early release
- it doesn't represent the final product
- it may contain bugs
Apart from that we are happy for you to share your experiences with the game about what you like about it, what needs to be improved, etc.
How to install the alpha build?
We have an installation guide that you can follow here. If you encounter any issues along the way, please reach out to the Support team or contact the dev team by joining the #mobile-pre-alpha Discord channel.
When will I receive an update?
When a new desktop release goes out we will release an android build alongside. We will then send you an email with the latest version. Just install the new version to update the previous one. The same install instructions apply.
While installing the app on Android, I get a security warning. What should I do?
On Android 8 or higher, you get a dialog such as "Chrome, For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source". Click the Settings button of that dialog and toggle Allow from this source. Alternatively you can navigate to Phone Settings > Apps & notifications. Find the browser application in the list, tap Advanced then Install unknown apps then toggle Allow from this source.
On Android 7 or lower, navigate to the device Settings then into the Security category. Under the Device Administration category, toggle Unknown Sources. Then try to install the application again.
Please note that some device manufacturers might customize the settings UI and thus menu entries can have different names or be at a different location.
While installing the app, I get a "There Was a Problem Parsing the Package" error.
This error could be caused by one of the following reasons:
- File may be downloaded incompletely
- Application might be not suitable for your hardware or OS version
- Security settings
- Corrupted APK file
- Name of the package is changed after signing
To troubleshoot, try redownloading the APK file and reinstalling the app. If that doesn't work, please contact the app developer to help resolve the issue.
