What is Shine Fusing?
Shine Fusing is a significant extension of the current fusing functionality available within the Forge. Previously, you were only able to use the Forge to fuse Plain cards to Meteorite cards for the Core set. Now, Shine Fusing allows players to combine five copies of lower Shine cards and fuse them via the Forge to create a single copy of a card with the next highest rarity. So five Meteorite cards will create one Shadow, five Shadow cards will create one Gold, and five Gold cards will create one Diamond card.
The feature is LIVE for ALL expansion sets across Gods Unchained & the Core cards that were already available in the Forge.
How does Shine Fusing work?
You can access Shine Fusing in the same way you currently use the Forge to fuse Plain to Meteorite cards for the Core set. Now, cards of Meteorite, Shadow, and Gold quality will also appear. If you have five copies of a card, you can select each of these copies to begin the fusing process.
For example:
- Burn five Meteorite cards + $GODS & Flux to create a single Shadow card
- Burn five Shadow cards + $GODS & Flux to create a single Gold card
- Burn five Gold cards + $GODS & Flux to create a single Diamond card
Once the Shine Fusing process is complete, the cards that were burnt are permanently removed from circulation and will never be available again.
What is the exact amount of $GODS and Flux needed in Shine Fusing?
The costs for Shine Fusing will be consistent across all Shine levels, with the same costs carrying over from the existing fusing of Plain cards. The costs do increase with the rarity of cards, but this does not change if you are fusing Plain or Gold cards.
In order to fuse Shadow and higher quality cards, you will need 5 identical cards of the previous quality and a sufficient amount of $GODS and Flux in order to pay for the fusing.
- To fuse a ‘Common’ card, you will need: 0.1 $GODS + 20 Flux
- To fuse a ‘Rare’ card, you will need: 0.3 $GODS + 40 Flux
- To fuse an ‘Epic’ card, you will need 0.7 $GODS + 120 Flux
- And to fuse a ‘Legendary’ card, you will need 1.5 $GODS + 200 Flux
For example, to create a Shadow card with Epic rarity, you’ll need:
- 5 identical Meteorite cards
- 0.7 $GODS
- 120 Flux
Why would I Shine Fuse cards when higher Quality cards don’t do anything differently?
The Quality of the cards will be more meaningful as Gods Unchained continues to grow. Upcoming game mechanics, such as Daily P&E, will see demand increase for higher quality cards as players will have the potential to earn more rewards by playing with higher Shine cards. And of course, newly fused Shine Cards can be traded on the secondary market as NFTs.
How does Shine Fusing impact $GODS and card supply?
Shine Fusing adds the first burn mechanism to Gods Unchained, which will create an increase in the supply of higher Shine cards while decreasing the supply of lower Shine cards. This results in a reduction of the circulating supply of cards while adding further utility to the $GODS token.
Why do all cards and the required $GODS have to be in the same wallet? This requirement is different from our current Core cards fusing.
Core cards are not NFTs, meaning they aren’t stored in your crypto wallet since they’re not stored on the blockchain. In contrast, all Shine cards are NFTs that you own and can be stored in your wallet or traded on any Immutable-powered marketplaces.
This means the required cards and $GODS must all be in the same wallet to simplify the fusing process and avoid potential issues when multiple wallets are involved. Since Immutable X allows you to transfer assets and tokens among wallets without any additional fees, we believe this condition should not be an issue with multiple-wallet owners.
Why are there multiple wallet transactions required when Shine Fusing?
Currently, you will have to sign each transaction via Metamask (one for the $GODS cost and once each for the cards being consumed). Once this process is completed, the newly fused card will be added to your wallet.
Suppose the transaction is unable to be completed for whatever reason. In that case, the process can be recovered via the History button within the Forge and the remaining transactions can be signed and the process can be completed.
If I have 125 meteorite cards, can I combine them to mint a single Diamond card?
No, you would have to mint 5 Shadow Cards first then 5 Gold Cards next.
Card Fusing is configured as a stair model, which means you can only climb one step of quality at a time.
Jumping multiple qualities in the fusing process is a good idea to save time and we will consider this as a potential update in the future. However, the cost will be likely to stay the same.
I encountered an error with Shine Fusing, what should I do?
If you see an error of "validation failed: error inserting asset tracking, record already exists; error creating asset tracking data for fusing request; Validation error;", this means that at least one of the cards you chose was already included in an unfinished fusing transaction. In order to resolve this, please go to the History tab and retry the incomplete fusing.
However, the History page is currently limited to 60 most recent transactions so if you have trouble finding the correct one to retry, please contact the Support Team for further assistance.
