Hey there! This page will give you the ins and outs of Flux, Fusing and the Forge tab, including an FAQ section.
What is Flux?
Flux is an in-game resource earned by playing the new Ranked Constructed game mode, Gauntlet of the Gods. Flux is used (in conjunction with $GODS) to fuse within the Forge to merge two identical cards into a new singular card of a higher quality.
Can Flux be used as a real currency?
No. Flux is an in-game resource that is used to fuse cards. Fusing cards increases the Quality, creating a purely aesthetic effect, but in the instance of fusing from Plain to Meteorite quality, your in-game cards combine to become a newly minted NFT!
What is the Forge?
The Forge is where you can Fuse cards. It has its own tab in the Launcher.
What is fusing?
Fusing is the process of combining two existing identical cards into a singular higher Quality version of the original card. Currently, you’re only able to fuse Core set cards to Meteorite quality, but this feature will expand with time.
A new Meteorite quality card created from fusing means your card is now an NFT and can be traded in the Immutable X marketplace, allowing it to be traded for ETH. Expansion cards like Divine Order or Trial of the Gods sets are already NFTS, so they can be sold right away without fusing.
What is Gauntlet of the Gods?
Gauntlet of the Gods is a minigame linked to Ranked and currently the only way to earn Flux. When playing, you will be assigned a random God. Winning with that God unlocks two Gods adjacent to them, allowing you to earn more Flux. Flux is only allocated for the first three victories with that God. This allows for 18 Flux earning victories per day, by winning 3 times with each of the 6 gods. You will need to wait until the daily reset to earn more Flux after reaching 18 wins.
Can we destroy/melt cards for Flux?
No. Flux is only obtainable by winning Gauntlet of the Gods matches.
Can you buy or sell Flux?
No. Flux is only earned through playing Gauntlet of the Gods.
How much Flux can I earn in one day?
You can only receive Flux 3 wins a day with any one god. Winning 3 times with each of the 6 gods, you can only receive Flux 18 times daily. You will need to wait for the Daily Reset to earn more.
Do I need to win on all Gods to win Flux?
To receive the maximum amount of Flux per day, yes, but each win you accumulate Flux; you get Flux for each individual of the first 3 wins.
How much Flux do I get per win?
How much you earn is determined by your rank and how often you win. The more you win, the more Flux you get. Upon the Daily Reset, this value will revert to its base value.
Do I need a wallet in order to fuse cards?
Yes. You will be asked upon clicking the Forge tab. If do not have a wallet linked, you will not be able to fuse. Fusing places the cards in your wallet, so you need to have one to receive the NFT you fuse!
Can you earn Flux in any game mode?
You can only earn Flux through the new game mode, Gauntlet of the Gods, in Ranked Mode.
How many times can I fuse a card?
Currently, you can only fuse Core set cards to Meteorite Quality. Once Meteorite Quality, that new card cannot be Fused again into the next Quality tier.
How do I earn Flux?
By winning matches in the Gauntlet of the Gods game mode. Flux will be allocated for the first 3 wins for each character per day, making for a possible 18 times to receive Flux per day.
What is the difference between Quality and Rarity?
Quality is an aesthetic state. Plain (gray) cards are always non-NFT cards. Meteorite and above cards are always NFTs. Once two Plain cards are fused together, they become an NFT of Meteorite Quality. There are higher Qualities above Meteorite, these are Shadow, Gold, and Diamond, but you are not able to fuse to these Qualities just yet.
Rarity indicates a card's drop rate. The higher the rarity, the harder it is to find that card in a pack. Rarity is are shown by the coloured crystals on either side of a card’s nameplate. A gray crystal indicates a Common card, pale blue a Rare card, purple an Epic card, and gold means the gods must look favorably upon you, mortal, because you’ve landed yourself a Legendary card! Legendary cards are very powerful, and thus you can only hold one of each Legendary in a deck (whereas you can have duplicates of any other rarity in your deck).
Am I able to reverse Fusing?
No. Once two cards have been Fused, it cannot be reverted. This also means it can never be removed from the Blockchain.
How many $GODS do I need to fuse cards?
The cost of $GODS is dependent on the rarity of the card you’re choosing to fuse. More details can be found in our blog here.
What can I do with a fused card?
Whatever you like! You can keep it to have a flashy Meteorite copy to use in games, you can list it for sale on the Marketplace – you choose.
Why can I only fuse up to Meteorite? I thought there was going to be the option to fuse to higher shines?
Shine fusing is one of the team’s top priorities, and it’s something we’re working hard on releasing as soon as possible. When we have more news on this, we’ll be certain to share!
Why isn’t fusing working for me?
Visit this blog to check you’re following all the steps correctly. Importantly, you’ll need to have your wallet connected to both Gods Unchained and Immutable X before trying to fuse a card. You’ll also need to make sure the wallet you select in The Forge screen is the same one linked to your browser at the time of going through the fusing process.
If you run into any issues whilst fusing, please wait 10 minutes. After this, navigate back into The Forge screen and retry the transaction. If this doesn't solve things, please contact support.
How do I check what I've fused in the past?
In The Forge screen, there’s a button labelled ‘history’. Click on this to view your last 60 fusing actions, as well as their status and details.
How do I earn $GODS for free?
Currently, you can earn $GODS via our Blessing of the GODS event. For more information on how to participate, visit this page.
Can I buy $GODS?
Yes you can! A few legitimate places are OKEx, SushiSwap, KUCoin. It's important to note that you'll have to deposit these tokens into Immutable X to be able to fuse cards though.
What happens to any $GODS spent in the forge?
$GODS used in the fusing process are sent to the Staking Rewards pool, as explained in our Whitepaper.
I have $GODS in my L1 wallet, but the Forge won’t accept it, why?
Fusing in The Forge happens on our L2 solution, Immutable X. This means that the $GODS used for fusing have to be on Immutable X as well!
How much does it cost to fuse a card?
- To fuse a ‘Common’ core card, you will need: 0.1 $GODS + 20 Flux
- To fuse a ‘Rare’ core card, you will need: 0.3 $GODS + 40 Flux
- To fuse an ‘Epic’ core card, you will need 0.7 $GODS + 120 Flux
- And to fuse a ‘Legendary’ core card, you will need 1.5 $GODS + 200 Flux
What happens if $GODS increases in price, how will the cost for fusing be kept in line with this?
We will periodically update the cost to fuse cards based on market conditions to keep costs in line. Any changes will be communicated in advance, so players are aware.
On Flux, will we be receiving any $GODS based on our Flux balance?
Yes! We identified that we had made the decision to introduce new costs into the fusing process. We took a snapshot of all players Flux balances on 2021-10-26 12:03:15pm PDT, to be able to give players similar access to fusing at the beginning of The Forge being reopened that they would have had we not introduced the additional $GODS cost. Based on the associated calculations regarding similar access, we landed on 0.0054 $GODS / Flux accumulated. In the next two weeks, we’ll be distributing corresponding amounts of $GODS to each player, based on their Flux balance at the time of the snapshot.
