Cards purchased with ETH are not subject to escrow and can be traded from purchase as ETH purchases are irreversible and secured by the Ethereum blockchain.
Down the line, we are looking at bringing in Credit Card purchasing in for direct purchases of Gods Unchained packs. This is tricky, as it means Credit Cards have to interact with blockchain items, and a credit card payment is not as secure or permanent as an ETH payment. As a result, Gods Unchained cards purchased using the credit/debit option are subject to a 90 Day escrow period before being confirmed, to ensure the payment holds. Cards in escrow are usable in-game from purchase but are untradable for 90 days. This is because blockchain ownership is irreversible, so a payment must be cleared or validated before items are assigned to a wallet. Payments take 90 days to fully clear, as credit/debit purchases can be contested within this period. Escrow exists to ensure the payment is secure and to protect peer to peer trading, as – if a card were to be traded and then the initial purchase were contested – the user who now owns the card after the trade would be the one who would lose out.
